a day in the life [ 12 September 2003, 10:46 a.m. ]

first, i just want to say that it is a BEAUTIFUL day outside. i may have to go on a few more walks to escape these corporate walls.

now, i'm going to talk about doughnuts again. because. it seems. that i am addicted. Addicted to doughnuts. i guess there could be worse things to be dependent on. ( i DO blame Her though, because as a young'un i would often drool over the doughnuts, but have enough sense not to eat them. now, everywhere we go, we're the Munchkin bringers.)

so, i took a walk this morning to drop off some dry cleaning and film. and i just "happened" to pass by D&D. now, how can a girl just walk by there, KNOWING that inside there is a chocolate cruller just calling her name? (and yes, the chocolate cruller is my poison of choice, because if i'm going to have a doughnut, i'm GONNA get the biggest one). i walk in and order a coffee (gotta have something to wash it down with) and a chocolate cruller. Because. i refuse to order a chocolate Stick. which is what they are calling them these days. (it happened once that i decided to just go with the 'New Lingo' so i ordered the "chocolate stick". and i was looked at like i had three heads. so i went back to the "cruller" terminology that i had grown up with, right quick. though, i was mad that they were the ones who made me say "stick" in the first place!)

anyway, this whole story started because as i walked out with my bag of sugary chocolately goodness, there was a woman sitting at a table IN the D&D, PLUCKING her eyebrows. oh man. that. is just Nasty.

but, i enjoyed the walk back, and have just finished my doughnut so all is right in the world again.
