i'm a dork. this is something that i know and embrace. luckily, i have friends that fall right into the same category.
so, we're going to chicago this weekend to play some rugby. [onepinksock, wanna come watch?] while we're there, the book club contingent of us want to go on a historical tour of the city and check out all the places mentioned in Devil in the White City. Geeks backwardsR Us, i know. my girl wants nothing to do with it. hee. it's so cute how she's all anti-book club. when it's at my place she will cook for us and retire to the back room for video games. ha!
anyway- i look forward to the windy city.
mostly though, i wanted to write about kris delmhorst. man. i love seeing her play live. she is amazing. i love her cds, but seriously, being in the same room with her when she sings is an experience. i'm usually just grinning because there's nothing else i can do. she's that good. and. i think. she loves the beatles just as much as i do. she usually does a beatles cover right near the end of a show. this time she and jabe sang Help! She prefaced it with a little story about how this was her very first favorite song. . .how she could remember being in kindegarten and thinking she just wanted to explode because the song was that good. i think i kinda think that about most of her songs. she definitely hypnotizes me. _sigh_
yup. dork.
